Insights into the exhibition themes
The built environment is changing rapidly. By 2050, more then 60 percent of humankind will live in cities. This process must be planned, guided and implemented spatially and physically. Considerable efforts to respond to these changes through research and development are required.
In recent years, the School of Architecture at TU Berlin has contributed considerably to this process by its research activities. By invitation of the President Prof. Steinbach, the School of Architecture will exhibit exemplary research projects to a wider public, organized in four clusters:
City The opportunity and challenge of coexistence.
Energy The economization and distribution of resources.
Heritage The history and legacy of the human habitat.
Research by Design The aesthetics and ethics of construction
The exhibition “Research in Architecture” presents German and international research projects. Research associations and cooperative research exemplify multifaceted academic interrelations. A selection of publications compliments the exhibition and allows further insights into the scientific yield of research in architecture and urban design at TU Berlin.
